Park Avenue – Toronto

Challenge

The developer, Burnac, wanted to use high quality engineered wood floors as the standard flooring in all of the units for this project. They wanted to offer floating hardwood floors as the standard flooring while providing the option to buyers to select glue down engineered hardwood as the upgrade floor. The project designers wanted a product that included more common species like White Oak while at the same time offering some exotic wood choices.

Solution

The builder chose 2 different engineered hardwood products for the complex. We installed the Samba Clic floating click together hardwood for the standard floor offering. Samba Clic, from the PB Collection, uses a high density fiberboard backing, which minimizes expansion and contraction. The floating click installation is great for use over concrete sub-floors. A range of woods including White Oak, Beech, Iroko and Doussie were used The builder also selected a few woods from Listone Giordano glue down range for the upgrade offering. Listone Giordano hardwood uses a multi-ply marine birch support to produce the maximum dimensional stability in the industry and the floor is glued down for a truly stable and quiet installation.
