Clear Spirit Condo Development

Challenge

Clear Spirit Condominium is a 340+ unit building located in the historic Distillery District of downtown Toronto. When designing the building, the design and build team wanted to give the unit owners the opportunity to keep a piece of the area’s history alive. The builder also wanted to use wooden floors as the standard flooring for the project while offering both modern and classic décor options.

Solution

The builder chose European Flooring to supply the standard and upgrade hardwood flooring for the project. They selected 6 decors in a 90mm wide engineered floating hardwood as the standard flooring. Thanks to special relationships with the manufacturer, European Flooring was able to offering two colours of flooring made from recycled fir wood that was used in the distillery buildings that once stood at the site. This allowed the builder to fulfill the goal of incorporating a part of the history in to the building. For the upgrades, the design team selected a variety of exotic wood and wide plank flooring options offering great choice for the unit owners. All of the floors used for the project had a multi-layer support providing exceptional dimensional stability over the concrete sub-floor.
